The come-out roll determines which initial bets are immediately paid, lost, or held. If you’re not playing in a casino, choose another backstop, like a curb or a wall. In a casino, the shooter must roll so both their dice hit the back wall of the craps table. Once the initial bets are placed, the shooter makes the first roll, or “come-out” roll. You can also bet on the odds of rolling a particular number, or place a proposition bet on the shooter rolling a specific number or range of numbers. Possible bets include the “pass line” bet, in which players bet that the shooter will land on a 7 or 11 before a 2, 3, or 12, or the “don’t pass line” bet, which is the opposite of a “pass line” bet. Before the shooter rolls the dice, have everyone place their bets. They will be in charge of rolling the dice for themselves and all the other players.
To play craps, one of the most popular casino dice games, start by selecting one player to be the shooter. Dice games are a popular form of gambling, or game of chance.
